Referring patients to regionalRegional Hospital is a long-term acute care hospital and a regional leader in providing extended critical care. We are equipped to provide full-spectrum acute care services and specialize in ventilator weaning.
Our patient population is medically fragile, dealing with multi-system organ failure and complex medical situations. Patients admitted to Regional Hospital must meet acute care screening criteria and have the potential to benefit from our unique services.
As an acute care hospital, we are part of the continuum of care for patients with complex, catastrophic or chronic illnesses, whose medical conditions remain more intense than can be safely managed in a lower level of care. We have the staffing and technology to provide advanced critical-care services for all of our patients.
Our Interdisciplinary TeamAt the heart of our ability to care for our patients is our interdisciplinary team. The unique structure and flexibility of this team allows our care to be individualized, patient-focused and genuinely compassionate. Each member of our team is highly skilled and extremely knowledgeable, and has the full collaborative backing of every other team member. And through our dedication to our patients and their families, teams are encouraged to maintain continuous interaction and communication between team members, patients and family members.
Led by a Pulmonologist/Intensivist, the interdisciplinary team is comprised of highly skilled professionals to include: Critical Care Nurses, Respiratory Care Practitioners, Physical Therapists, Occupational Therapists, Speech Therapists, Certified Nursing Assistants, Psychologists, Medical Social Workers, Dietitians, Clinical Pharmacists, Chaplains and others. Our medical staff also includes a full range of medical and surgical specialists.
Open StaffingTo encourage continuity of care, our Executive Medical Staff Committee may grant temporary privileges to consulting or referring physicians. This allows physicians to maintain a level of involvement appropriate to their own practice patterns.
